    Un amplificator RF cu zgomot redus este un amplificator cu o figură de zgomot foarte scăzută, utilizat în circuite pentru a amplifica semnale slabe și a minimiza zgomotul introdus de amplificator.

    În general, este utilizat ca preamplificator de înaltă frecvență sau frecvență intermediară pentru diverse receptoare radio și ca circuit de amplificare pentru echipamente electronice de detectare de înaltă sensibilitate. Un amplificator bun cu zgomot redus trebuie să amplifice semnalul, producând în același timp un zgomot și o distorsiune cât mai reduse posibil.

    Următoarele sunt principalele caracteristici și aplicații ale amplificatoarelor cu microunde cu zgomot redus:

    1. Amplificarea câștigului: LNA poate amplifica semnalele de intrare slabe la un nivel suficient pentru procesarea ulterioară a circuitului sau a sistemului. În comunicațiile wireless, semnalul recepționat este adesea foarte slab, iar prin efectul de amplificare al LNA, semnalul poate fi îmbunătățit la un nivel fiabil pentru a asigura procesarea și demodularea ulterioară.
    2. Reducerea zgomotului sistemului: LNA se străduiește să minimizeze introducerea de zgomot suplimentar în timpul amplificării semnalului. Zgomotul este crucial pentru performanța sistemelor de comunicații wireless, deoarece poate masca semnalele și reduce raportul semnal-zgomot al sistemului. Un amplificator cu zgomot redus cu unde milimetrice reduce zgomotul sistemului prin minimizarea cifrei de zgomot prin utilizarea unui design optimizat al circuitelor și a materialelor cu zgomot redus.
    3. Îmbunătățirea gamei dinamice a sistemului: O altă funcție a LNA este de a extinde gama dinamică a sistemului. Gama dinamică se referă la capacitatea unui sistem de a gestiona simultan atât semnale puternice, cât și semnale slabe. Amplificatoarele de înaltă frecvență cu zgomot redus pot gestiona semnale mai slabe fără supraîncărcare sau distorsiune din cauza semnalelor mai puternice. Acest lucru permite sistemului să funcționeze eficient în medii cu o gamă largă de diferențe de intensitate a semnalului.
